I’ve received a few emails over the past several months asking me some more specific questions about the digital scrapbooking software I use: My Memories Suite by Polaroid. Â One of the more recent emails I got asked a lot of good questions that I realized isn’t very obvious based on the website ad and video. Â They’re more technical use questions that aren’t modeled on the infomercial or explained on the site for someone who may be trying to check out the program’s capabilities before buying. Â Now that I have been using this amazing software for nearly a year, I felt inspired to create some video tutorials that cover some of the more important aspects of the program and some of the common questions I’ve been asked about it. Â Today I’m releasing my first freebie software tutorial, which is a basic introduction. Â In this video I do a 30 minute walkthrough of the program’s main features and show you the basic capabilities of My Memories Suite. Â The video is embedded below, or you can click here to watch the video over on YouTube, where you can bookmark it and rate it to come back to in case you don’t have 30 minutes all at once to spare.
I hope that the video goes into enough detail to give you a better idea of how powerful My Memories Suite is, and perhaps even encourage you to purchase it for yourself. My First CU Freebie: Paper Edger Templates
My CU Paper Edgers Freebie Set
As I promised yesterday, I’m back with my very first commercial use freebie for you today :) Yesterday I gave away the beautiful Fall Foliage Textured Edger Papers (see below) which are personal use only, HOWEVER, the templates I used to create those gorgeous papers are what I’ve got to give away today, and they are commercial use! Feel free to use the edgers to create your own unique papers by adding your own overlays and colours to them. The edger templates are for commercial use as mentioned, but be sure to read the CU TOU included (or you can read about them here) because it’s a new set of terms for my freebies, being my first CU giveaway. Basically the only major thing to keep in mind (besides the obvious… don’t pass them off as your own templates or re-distribute them) is that while you can use the templates to create your own papers to use commercially, be sure to give credit where credit is due when you use them. It’s only right ;)

So in case you missed yesterday’s beautiful Fall Foliage papers (see left), rush back and nab them here. In today’s CU freebie pack you’ll find 12 unique edger templates and a sample paper that I made with one of the edgers so you get an idea of what you can do with the templates. The pink grungy sample paper in the download is yours to keep and use how you wish (within the TOU) as well :) And you don’t just have to make paper with these templates, either! I made them 3600 pixels tall by default so that it was easy for paper makers, but the templates can be resized and used as edges on anything you can imagine, from notepapers to journal tags and everything in between. Get creative! Simply add them to what you want to edge, apply your chosen colour to the shape and then add a decorative overlay to give it character. Just like the Fall Foliage papers! And Voila! You’ve now got something unique to use in your kits, give away, or scrap with.

I really love the orange leafy one and the brown retro-ish circles one :)

Celebrating the Blog Move with a QP Freebie!

Obviously a lot has changed around here in the past 24 hours or so! I decided to switch my blog over to a WordPress hosted blog versus the old Blogger format and site I was using previously. By hosting the craft blog myself using WordPress’ engine I have total control over themes, layout and design. Speaking of which, I hope you like the new layout. :smile: The theme is called “Desk Mess” by Laptop Geek, but as you can see, I made a lot of graphic changes to it so that it looks more like what my crafty desk “mess” looks like. ;) Some things around here are the same just in a new format, such as the navigation on the right, but two new things I’ve put together include the pages that you can access across the top of the site. One is for my freebies which talks about my TOU and compiles all of my freebies in one spot so you can quickly sift through anything I’ve given away on my blog previously. You can also read a little bit more about me on the about page. Fun stuff!
Anyway, to celebrate the blog move I of course have a freebie for you. I loved the Sushi Bar freebie kit by Irene Alexeeva so much (mmmmmm sushi!) that I decided to create a quick page with it. Please note that the freebie is for personal use only and all of the graphics used are from Irene’s kit and not designed by myself. Only the layout was designed by me. Included in the freebie package you’ll find Irene’s TOU along with mine and the preview image of her Sushi Bar kit that you can get from her blog.
Prepare for more freebies ahead this week as I give away more and more stuff in celebration of the new blog host and format. Please be patient as I’m still tweaking a few things, though. I think I successfully exported everything from Blogger and imported it here with WordPress properly, including all of my previous posts and any comments, but if you see anything strange or missing please don’t hesitate to let me know! That also brings me to my final note … with the blog hosting move I’ve also changed my craft blog email address. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to direct them to craftblog at pinktoque dot com .

"I Love the Chicago Bears" Quick Page Freebie
It’s Sunday, and you know what that means… FOOTBALL!
As promised, here’s a little quick page for you in celebration of the Chicago Bears! This quick page coordinates with my “I Love the Chicago Bears” freebie kit and the add-on pack freebie given away yesterday. Be sure to snag them if you haven’t already! Don’t you love the photo I used as my example in the preview? My little Winston, decked out in his Bears jersey. Though I am not sure what’s going on in today’s game… Tampa Bay is beating us?! "I Love the Chicago Bears" Mini Add-On Pack
With the 2008-2009 football season officially upon us, I thought it was time to whip up a little add-on pack for my “I Love the Chicago Bears” freebie kit I gave away last month in anticipation of the new season. In week 1, my Bears lovingly ensured the Indianapolis Colts suffered a loss in their very first game ever played in their brand spankin’ new Lucas Oil stadium. Being originally from the south side of the Hoosier capital gives me the right to rub it in a little bit, as the rivalry between the Colts and Bears is a big deal in my family, as I’ve mentioned before. While I watched the game in absolute glee all snuggled in on the couch with my boys, I have to admit I was super impressed with the new Colts stadium. It’s really amazing!
In week 2 the game was unavailable for me to watch because I was back home in Indiana and my dad couldn’t find a station carrying it — not that it mattered, since the Colts were playing Minnesota at the same time. I was saddened to hear/see the updated scoreboard ticker showing the Bears losing to Carolina at the very end of the game :( Oh, well… we’ll get Tampa Bay this weekend to make up for it ;)
Anyway, hope you enjoy the little add-on pack. It includes 8 slide-type frames with various goodies — some with complementary coloured masking tape, some with a little bracket stapled to it, and some that are just plain. You’ll also find a separate journaling bracket, two cmdz doodle borders, two photo corners and 3 papers. Absence and (Finally) Freebie Friday
Hi everyone.
This Friday I have a quick page that I just threw together. I have a few other freebies that are ready to go, but I’ve been gone for a week or so and want to make sure I was completely finished with them before I release them. This week’s quick page was inspired by the seemingly hundreds of fall layouts I’ve seen recently. I love autumn colours and I wanted to make my own! No special kit was used… I just went through my resources and started designing my perfect fall layout. It’s 3600 x 3600 pixels in 300 dpi and ready for your favourite fall photo. And as usual, it’s for personal, non commercial use only! Don’t forget to check the TOU included. If you have any questions about how to use the QP or the TOU, don’t hesitate to contact me :)
Sorry for my absence and for missing last Freebie Friday. My grandpa went into the hospital and
my husband and I flew back to Indiana to be with family. He passed away last night (well, this morning) a little after midnight. I designed a little page with a photo of him that my grandma gave me. It’s such a great picture of him, and it’s really how I remember him best. The last few years has been hard for him and my whole family. He’s had Alzheimer’s for several years now and then recently caught pneumonia. While in the hospital for the pneumonia, he had a massive stroke, about two weeks ago now, and never woke up again. He will be missed so much. Rest in peace, grandpa. We love you and will never forget you.

"The Hoosier State" Quick Pages Freebie!
I managed to find a little time this weekend to put together a few quick pages for you using my freebie kit for “The Hoosier State.” If you missed parts 1, 2 and 3 of the set be sure to check back a few posts to nab them for yourself! The quick pages are all 3600 x 3600 pixel pngs. To use them, all you have to do is paste them as a new layer like an overlay over top of your photos in your favourite image editing software. It usually lines up best if you open the quick page first, then arrange your photos over the empty spaces, then shuffle the layer(s) that your photo(s) are on underneath the quick page layer. If you have any questions on using them, don’t hesitate to email me. :)
In other news, today is the first official regular season Bears game (versus my hometown team of the Indianapolis Colts!) GOOOOOOOOOOOOO BEARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our little family is all prepped for the game and I hope to get another scrapbook page or two together using my “I Love the Chicago Bears” freebie because Winston was an absolute doll and posed wonderfully for me in his little Bears jersey earlier, as you can see.

"The Hoosier State" Freebie Part 3 of 3
It’s Friday and you know what that means… Freebie Friday! :) Hope everyone has had a great short week — and now on to the final piece of “The Hoosier State” kit, part 3! If you’ve not been following my blog the last few days then you’ve missed out on parts 1 and 2, so be sure to flip back and grab them so you can have all of the Indiana goodness at your fingertips. Part 3 is a bit ‘cornier’ than the previous two pieces and consists of the final two papers, some corn-y notepaper, two more kinds of corn elements, another peony and a wheat inspired mat, a little wordart and wooden elements, a new button and a handful of bows, an acrylic state of Indiana and two more ribbons, with one being of the hand-beaded variety. It’s a beautiful final piece (if I do say so myself) and now your Hoosier state kit is all complete!
