Cousteau Cowl

Posted in Knit, Showcase , on February 20, 2010 ,

This is a knitted cowl pattern that I created in December 2009. The cowl was created to match the Cousteau Hat that I knit for my husband at Christmas, so my cowl pattern was inspired by the Cousteau Hat pattern by Typy on Ravelry.

The pattern is available for free on Ravelry.

Unoriginal Bordered Basket Weave Dishcloth

Posted in Knit , on February 20, 2010 ,

This is my unoriginal basket weave design for a knitted washcloth, created in June of 2009. I was in search of a good dishcloth pattern for knitting a gift to my boss at my summer job, and I couldn’t find just the right pattern. I liked the look of basket weave, so I came up with my own bordered edge pattern design featuring the basket weave in all of its glory. This pattern is available for free on Ravelry.

Rayman Raving Rabbid Plush

Posted in Plush , on February 20, 2010 ,

This is a 3D Rayman Raving Rabbid plush that I designed and created for a friend shortly after the first game was released for the Nintendo Wii. I LOVE the Rayman games! This plush is made from felt and fleece, partially machine and hand sewn. Stuffed with polyfill and lots of fun.

I later added a few accessories to allow the recipient the ability to dress the rabbid up as Superman. It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s SUPER RAYMAN RAVING RABBID!

Plush 4-Tiered Wedding Cake

Posted in Plush , on February 20, 2010 ,

For my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding in October 2007, I created a giant confection masterpiece: a plush 4-tiered wedding cake modeled after their actual wedding cake. The cake was crafted from felt and foam, and all hand stitched.  Looks good enough to eat, don’t you think? The flowers on top were made from leftover scraps of the actual bridesmaid dresses.

Be sure to check out my other plush confections for more of my delicious artwork.

Huug the Hug Monster

Posted in Crochet, Knit, Plush , on February 20, 2010 ,

Huug the Hug Monster is a character and pattern design that I created in February 2008. The original Huug was knit, but I have since created a crochet pattern to make Huug, too. (January 2009.)

Huug was invented randomly one day when I envisioned this cute and cuddly monster who was built with disproportionately large arms meant specifically for hugging. I began knitting and tweaked the dimensions and the pattern until Huug came alive in fiber exactly the way I imagined him in my head.

Personal pattern not available. Character and pattern has been legally copyrighted.

Plush Confections

Posted in Plush , on February 20, 2010 ,

Don’t ask me why, but I love crafting plush food. These are just a few of the plush cakes and donuts I’ve handmade. Some have been on display in the UK as part of a plush food exhibit. Over the years, I’ve made several custom plush confections for various celebrations and events. Let me know if you’re looking for something specific.

Also be sure to check out the four-tiered plush wedding cake I made for my brother and sister-in-law’s wedding. Looks good enough to eat!

Otters in Love

Posted in Plush , on February 20, 2010 ,

This is a set of plush otters that I designed to give to my husband. There is a small piece of velcro on the otters’ paws so that they can hold hands just like real otters do in the wild when they sleep so they don’t float apart. Partially machine and hand sewn, made from various types of felt. Plush pattern designed by me.

Amigurumi Cthulhu Plush

Posted in Crochet, Plush , on February 20, 2010 ,

Oh the great Cthulhu has risen yet again in fiber-y goodness. This time he is a tiny cute plush, crocheted from the free pattern by Amber of the Cthulhu Crochet and Cousins blog. I can’t seem to get enough Cthulhu, can I?

Amigurumi Corn Plush

Posted in Crochet, Plush , on February 20, 2010 ,

This is an ear of plush corn that I made to give my (Canadian) husband when we moved back to Indiana, as corn is a very iconic symbol of the Hoosier state. Crocheted from acrylic yarn and stuffed with polyfill and love.

Personal pattern not available.
