Forget sock monkeys — what YOU need is an original Sock-thulhu!

Sock-thulhus are wonderfully soft Cthulhu plushes created à la sock monkey from fuzzy chenille-style socks. They were designed with love and care and are truly one-of-a-kind. Stuffed with polyfill and light cardboard for stability in the wings. Not meant to be washed.

Sock-Thulhus are a registered character and pattern copyright to Lesley A. Karpiuk of the Pink Toque Craft Blog. Available for sale on Etsy.

Crochet Cthulhu Toque

Posted in Hats, Showcase , on February 20, 2010 ,

This is a 100% original crochet toque (hat) of the mighty Cthulhu! The hat design and pattern were originally designed and made by Lesley A. Karpiuk… accept no cheap imitations or look-a-likes by others that have started cropping up! This is THE original of its kind.

Made from soft worsted weight yarn, this toque will surely make you the talk of the town during your next outing. This item is handmade and features Cthulhu tentacles, wings, and sewn on buttons for eyes. Due to the button eyes, this product is not recommended for children. The baby version features sewn-on felt eyes instead of buttons or safety eyes.

Note: Wearing a Cthulhu on your head is indicative of a coolness that cannot be surpassed. You know you want one. Pattern copyright to Lesley Karpiuk of the Pink Toque Craft Blog. Available for purchase in The Pink Toque shop.

Rancor Plush

Posted in Plush , on February 20, 2010 ,

Rancors are fierce beasts in the Star Wars universe. You may remember Luke Skywalker attempting to escape his untimely death at the jaws of a rancor by closing a door on its head. SWG players who remember the Creature Handler profession may think back fondly to when they tamed their first baby bull rancor in-game. Either way, rancors are iconic Star Wars creatures and one day I decided to sit down and draft a pattern to create a plush version of my very own from felt. All features hand sewn.

Personal pattern not available.

Huug the Hug Monster

Posted in Crochet, Knit, Plush , on February 20, 2010 ,

Huug the Hug Monster is a character and pattern design that I created in February 2008. The original Huug was knit, but I have since created a crochet pattern to make Huug, too. (January 2009.)

Huug was invented randomly one day when I envisioned this cute and cuddly monster who was built with disproportionately large arms meant specifically for hugging. I began knitting and tweaked the dimensions and the pattern until Huug came alive in fiber exactly the way I imagined him in my head.

Personal pattern not available. Character and pattern has been legally copyrighted.

Amigurumi Cthulhu Plush

Posted in Crochet, Plush , on February 20, 2010 ,

Oh the great Cthulhu has risen yet again in fiber-y goodness. This time he is a tiny cute plush, crocheted from the free pattern by Amber of the Cthulhu Crochet and Cousins blog. I can’t seem to get enough Cthulhu, can I?

Gribblies

Posted in Knit, Plush , on February 20, 2010 ,

What in the world is a “gribbly” you ask?

from urbandictionary.com:
Gribbly/Gribblies:
“In gaming, an enemy/monster that is small and/or insignificant, and usually serves no purpose other than to irritate the gamer/opponent.”

and

“In tabletop gaming, a small annoying monster that does little more than irritate.”

So these are just tiny little insignificant creatures hiding in nooks and crannies that will do little more than just irritate you if they cross your path. They like to pester and annoy whomever they come in contact with, and I like to believe that gribblies are to blame for all of those little irritating setbacks in your typical day. Having a bad day? Blame it on the gribblies!

These are two creations I designed and knit in March 2008. They stand about an inch and a half tall, with the bunny a little taller than the frog due to its long ears.
